How can you reduce your risk of developing skin cancer?

Can you reduce your risk of skin cancer?

There are several measures you can take to reduce your risk of getting skin cancer:

  • Use an SPF30+ sunscreen or an umbrella to keep your skin protected when you’re outside.
  • Stay away from the sunlight during its harshest hours (between 10am to 4pm).
  • Use loose clothing, a hat, and sunglasses when you’re planning on staying outdoors for long.
  • Do regular skin checks at home, and don’t miss out on your yearly/monthly skin checks with your doctor.
  • If you’re doing skin checks at home, take photos of your skin for comparison.

It’s important to note that if you notice any changes in your skin or moles, or you’ve noticed new spots, book an appointment with a doctor immediately.
